Open day - "A look inside the WFG NF"

Our offices are housed on several floors in the gatehouse of the castle outside Husum. Our guests were able to gain an insight into our premises in the historic building and get an overview of the forward-looking projects that we work on every day. In addition to the Supervisory Board and shareholders of WFG, representatives of North Frisian municipalities, authorities and associations as well as local financial institutions were invited.

Making office work tangible and visible is not that easy. However, each member of our team presented the project for which they are responsible graphically on large wall charts and was available for explanations. This quickly led to in-depth discussions at a professional level, especially as our guests are already familiar with the WFG’s tasks from their work or already cooperate closely on a day-to-day basis. As we said goodbye, it became clear how necessary this open day was for our partners. Many of our guests emphasized how their view had widened because they could now better assess the diversity of our subject areas. Managing Director Matthias Hüppauff quotes one visitor as saying: “I admire everyone’s willingness to help, for example to make it easier for people wanting to start a business or to help companies apply for funding.”

Anyone who wanted to could even try their hand at being a drone pilot on a simulator, as the WFG is promoting the use of unmanned aerial vehicles for medical purposes, among others. In addition to this highly innovative field, the aim was to delve deeper into familiar topics. How can companies in North Friesland attract new employees? How can further training be promoted for your teams? How can cooperation in the border region be strengthened? And how can small and medium-sized companies also be helped to assess their CO2 emissions and reduce them on the way to greater sustainability? Against the backdrop of the Northvolt settlement near Heide, the focus was also on the management of commercial sites in North Friesland – including the progress made in converting land and buildings that were once used by the German Armed Forces.

It was a successful day with exciting discussions and valuable input. An event that we would like to repeat.
