By the end of September, 285 companies had been founded in North Friesland – an increase of almost 16% compared to the previous year! This puts North Friesland in 1st place for start-ups in Schleswig-Holstein. The business development agency, the Flensburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (Husum office) and the district of North Friesland, with the support of Nord-Ostsee Sparkasse, were able to contribute to this success with the joint “North Friesland Start-up Promotion” program and support numerous founders in turning their business ideas into reality. With tailored offers such as around 20 workshops and lectures on topics relevant to start-ups, individual (legal) advice, joint company tours with the Wirtschaftsjunioren Nordfriesland and exciting networking events as well as the pitch event at the NIC Niebüll, the region once again became a hotspot for innovative start-ups and entrepreneurial spirit. The diversity of the projects supported is particularly remarkable: From products made from regional sheep’s wool to initiatives for the sustainable promotion of local biodiversity and innovative processes for environmentally friendly energy generation, our region is proving to be a source of inspiration for innovative and sustainable ideas.
A special highlight awaits us right at the start of the new year: in January 2025, District Administrator Florian Lorenzen will award the best three ideas from the “North Friesland Start-up Camp” to the projects subsidized by the district’s “Business Support Fund”. The creative students who founded and managed virtual companies in the business plan game will also receive their well-deserved recognition on this day.
After three successful years, the start-up promotion program Nordfriesland 2025 is entering its fourth round. In the coming season, the focus will once again be on promoting innovation, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. Whether it’s developing a business plan, finding funding or networking with other founders – the program offers a comprehensive toolbox to pave the way to self-employment.
