The Nordfrieslamm starts the outdoor season!

Spring has finally arrived in North Friesland! This not only means that the sheep and lambs are allowed back on the dykes, but also that our North Frisian lamb majesties mingle with the “people” again. Many wonderful farmers’ markets and village festivals give them the opportunity to do so.

Niebüll's schafer day on June 16, 2023

“Niebüll’s sheep day” is the motto of an action day all about sheep, lambs and their products on June 16, 2023 from 11:00 to 21:00 on Niebüll’s town hall square. The Niebüll town marketing department, the Nordfrieslamm project of the Nordfriesland business development agency and regional suppliers will be organizing a colourful programme on this day based around the woolly ambassadors of North Friesland. Of course, the Lamb Queen and the Lamb Princess will also be there. There is a lot to see, feel, taste and find out. Instead of an opening with many speeches, we would like to hold a relaxed “Schafen Schnack” at the information stand of the Nordfrieslamm project at 11.30 a.m., to which we would like to cordially invite you.

Here you can meet the lamb majesties on other dates and discover sheep products:

The "Nordfrieslamm" campaign

Our “Nordfrieslamm” campaign aims to make the dyke sheep and its indispensable use on the dykes around the North Sea more visible and give it greater appreciation. The project of Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft Nordfriesland mbH involves sheep farms, dairies, farm stores and restaurants in the region. In this way, the regional “sheep” suppliers can promote the common cause and support each other when it comes to marketing the diverse products of the woolly dyke dwellers.
