Projects

Switching to sustainable processes in SMEs

The Interreg6a project GrønBusiness supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in aligning their services and processes with sustainability.

Special focus is placed on smaller companies and businesses in the German-Danish border region that are unable to maintain their own sustainability department in order to develop and implement more sustainable corporate and future strategies.

The focus is on the three action frameworks of ecology, social issues and corporate management. The topic of the transition to a circular economy is given special consideration.

Events, tools and initiatives are jointly designed and implemented by business development experts from Germany and Denmark. You will be supported by university partners.

The aim of the EU funding measure (Interreg6A), which runs from 01.04.2023 to 31.03.2026, is to raise awareness and motivate local companies to operate in a more environmentally and socially responsible manner in the future.

The project is funded by Interreg Deutschland-Danmark and co-financed by the European Union.

Our services and support:

  • Provision of a range of customized personal and digital information on green transformations for SMEs (under development).
  • Information, workshop, conference and networking events on various topics relating to future-oriented corporate development.
  • Helpful tools for the green transition will be made available during the course of the project.
  • Know-how is being built up within the business development department to provide optimal support for regional companies.
  • Good examples are made visible across borders.

For 25 years now, the North Frisian Lamb Days have ensured that North Frisian salt marsh lamb is perceived as a special regional specialty and cultural asset.

It is not just about marketing the meat, but also about using this campaign to make the dyke sheep and its indispensable use on the dykes around the North Sea and its “typically North Frisian” friendly nature better known and appreciated.

In order to develop the economic landscape on the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein in line with the green transformation, it is necessary as a first step to carry out an inventory. Building on this, the four West Coast districts, the regional economic development agencies and chambers of industry and commerce want to work together with local companies to develop a catalog of measures for more sustainable economic development. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 7 to 13) form the basis of the future concept to be derived. The final step will be the consolidation of all results and future concrete measures in a project application in fall 2024.

With the future concept, the West Coast region can apply for further funding and the implementation of measures for a 3-year implementation phase from 01.01.2025.

The project is an initiative of the West Coast Regional Cooperation and is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection.

North Friesland is a pioneer in the use of renewable energies and the implementation of community energy projects. Schleswig-Holstein wants to completely decarbonize its economy and become the first climate-neutral industrial state.

The “Climate-neutral economy NF” project aims to supplement this process with measures tailored to North Friesland.

The aim is to show how decarbonization can succeed in a rural region characterized by small and medium-sized, craft and tourism businesses, taking into account all aspects of sustainability and involving citizens.
